Several FISIP UMSU lecturers carry out community partnership program activities.
Medan, Several lecturers of the Communication Science Study Program, The Faculty of Social Science and Politics, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (IKO FISIP UMSU), carried out Community Partnership Program activities at SMK Yayasan Perguruan Harapan Stabat, Langkat Regency. Friday (4/6/21).
The Head of the Community Service Team Nurhasanah Nasution, S.Sos, M.I.Kom, when met, explained that the main focus of this activity was on the Utilization of Online Learning Media for Teachers of SMK Yayasan Perguruan Harapan during the Covid 19 Pandemic. The utilization of technology in an era like today is essential because when using existing information communication technology, teachers and students still need to improve in mastering existing technology.
“Technology now lives side by side with us, but not everyone can use existing technology to the fullest and can understand every benefit and function of the technology used properly,” said Nurhasanah.
Drs. Zulfahmi, M.I.Kom, one of the service group members, added that many learning models are carried out during a pandemic like today.
“Various platforms are also used in this distance learning which is used as support in the process of teaching and learning activities such as google classroom, elearning, edmodo, zoom, google meet, WhatsApp, and so on, which can be a support so that the learning process carried out can run well even during a pandemic like today,” explained Zulfahmi.
Faizal Hamzah Lubis, S. Sos, M.I.Kom added that the COVID-19 pandemic inevitably, like it or not, must indeed be faced. According to him, ideally, educators must be media literate.
