Total of 150 students and educators from SMA Negeri 12 Pekanbaru Riau conducted a study tour to the UMSU Campus in Medan. The visit, which was led directly by the Principal Hajjah Ermita was welcomed by the Rector of UMSU Prof. Dr. Agussani and faculty leaders.
The Student Study Tour of SMA Negeri 12, one of the three leading schools in Pekanbaru City, is an annual routine program for visiting universities to get various information about universities. It is hoped that with this visit, students will get an idea of what a college is like and its facilities.
The Chancellor of the University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra (UMSU) Prof. Dr. Agussani MAP, was happy because SMA Negeri 12 chose the UMSU Campus as the location of their study tour. As an A-accredited campus in Sumatra, UMSU must provide information so students can choose the best college for their future processes.
Meanwhile, the Head of SMA Negeri 12 Hj. Ermita S.Pd MM appreciated the welcome given by UMSU to the group. Not only presenting the best information but also presenting the best series of events. Hj, Ermita felt very flattered because the Chancellor of UMSU immediately accompanied students around the Main Campus, saw the Gallery and conducted a special interview with UMSU FM Radio.
Ermita said UMSU’s absorption of graduate students from various Pekanbaru high schools was substantial. Currently, 120 students from Pekanbaru study on multiple faculties at UMSU. “In fact, one of them is the daughter of a biology teacher at SMA Negeri 12 who has graduated from the Faculty of Medicine,” said Ermita.
Of the 120 graduates of SMA/SMK Pekanbaru who studied at UMSU respectively: 61 people were studying in the Faculty of Medicine, 7 people at the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology, 8 people at the Faculty of Engineering, 4 people at the Faculty of Islamic Religion, 10 people at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Information Technology. Political Science, 18 people at the Faculty of Economics and Business, 4 at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, 10 at the Faculty of Law and 2 at the Faculty of Agriculture.
