Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) and PT Sinar Mas Agro Resources And Technology Tbk established cooperation related to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The Vice Rector III, Assoc. Prof. Dr Rudianto, M.Si, and Head of HR CBS Pt. Sinar Mas, Lilianawati, signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Wednesday (21/8) at the UMSU VIP Room on Muchtar Basri Street No.3 Medan.
WR III, Dr Rudianto said he was very open regarding the collaboration between UMSU and PT Sinar Mas. This is an advantage that is expected to provide mutual opportunities,
‘UMSU has become one of the pilot campuses for MBKM activities such as internships and independent studies. Of course, through this collaboration, it is hoped that it can open up opportunities for student internships at Sinar Mas,’ said Dr Rudianto.
He also said that most of the 20,000 UMSU students have participated in various creativity and reasoning activities. For the past six years, UMSU students have also won the Student Achievement Programme. UMSU is also the organizer of the Independent Entrepreneur program.
‘We really encourage students to have strong soft skills. This collaboration is certainly very good for students to have the opportunity to intern at the Sinar Mas Company,’ said WR III.
Meanwhile, the Head of HR CBS PT Sinar Mas, Lilianawati, was also very enthusiastic about this collaboration. She expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome from UMSU.
‘We hope that this collaboration can be followed up with strategic steps in the future. We are very open to UMSU students to learn and work in our company, ’
This activity was followed by a discussion of strategic planning in implementing future collaboration between UMSU and PT Sinar Mas.
Also present were the Chairperson of OIC UMSU, Rafieqah Nalar Rizky, S.Sos., M.A, Chairperson of MBKM Abdurrahman Zuhdi, S.I, Chairperson of CADC Sukma Lesmana, S.E, M.Si, Ph.D and the Head of Bureau who attended.
