Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara has budgeted Rp2.5 billion for internal research and community service (PKM) grants. The budget is intended for the winners of 367 proposals out of 395 proposals submitted in 2020-2021.
“The enthusiasm of lecturers to research and serve from the previous two years is quite high,” said the Head of the UMSU Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), Syaiful Amri Saragih, MSc, in the UMSU Faculty of Computer Science and Information and Technology Hall, recently.
Syaiful explained the signing of the UMSU 2020-2021 contract with details, Beginner Lecturer Research (PDP) (58 proposals), Basic Research (PD) (136), Applied Research (PT) (31), PKM (104), PKPM (38).
He emphasized that participants must comply with the rules in the contract, especially regarding progress (70% and 100%) and outcomes.
The Rector of UMSU, represented by Vice Rector I, Dr. Muhammad Arifin Gultom, MHum, congratulated the success of UMSU lecturers whose proposals were accepted and asked lecturers to improve the quality of one day being able to fight at the national level research.
He suggested that in order to improve quality, the rules in the review should be tightened and in research so that lecturers can involve students.
“We must be able to maintain UMSU’s position in the main cluster by maintaining research and service performance,” he said. The event continued with a symbolic signing of the contract and a group photo with the research lecturers.
