Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) held a workshop related to the Independent Accreditation Institute (LAM) and International Accreditation. The activity was held on Tuesday (8/3) in the UMSU Meeting Room – Jl, Muchtar Basri – No. 3 Terrain.
This activity was held for two days with UMY professor Prof. Dr. Achmad Nurmandi, M.Sc., and Lecturer of Information Technology UMY Slamet Riyadi, ST, M.Sc., Ph.D. Aims to encourage all study programs to achieve Superior accreditation to International accreditation.
UMSU’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, expects this meeting will be beneficial in the future. “Thank you to Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta as the UMSU supervisor who has helped a lot in developing this campus. God willing, we are ready to learn from UMY,” said Prof. Agussani.
UMSU Holds LAM Workshop and International Accreditation with UMY. Prof. Agussani also conveyed the good news regarding the registration of UMSU in the QS World University Rankings, namely the publication of rankings of universities worldwide in England. UMSU has received four stars related to the institution.
“Alhamdulillah, the results of the worries of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta and the hard work of all our UMSU academies are listed in QS. But, unfortunately, only two can be listed in the QS, namely UMSU and USU,” said Prof. Agussani.
Welcoming this, Prof. Nurmandi gave directions regarding the Independent Accreditation Institute (LAM), the Independent Education Accreditation Institute (LAMDIK). In addition, the Independent Accreditation Institute for Economics, Business Management and Accounting (LAMEMBA), and the Independent Engineering Accreditation Institute (LAM Teknik) and international accreditation, “We have to think about how the budget limited to achieve performance,” said Prof. Nurmandi.
UMSU Holds LAM Workshop and International Accreditation with UMY. Prof. Nurmandi suggested that each study program have a Strategic Plan (Renstra). The Strategic Plan is reviewed once a year, and the teaching and learning must be under the expertise of the study program. It must be suitable for international competitiveness if you want to excel. Study programs must have global aspirations in the vision and mission and implement Outcome Based Education (OBE).
The first day of the workshop was closed with a question and answer session and implementation of the material presented by Prof. Nurmandi.
