The UMSU Postgraduate Program and the Lions Club Medan Golden Scholar and Smilingkids Foundation carry out Social Service activities. Several activities were held in this Social Service activity, such as Blood Donations, Free Blood Sugar Checks, Free Mental Health Tests, Distribution of Free Glasses, and Distribution of Trash Cans. The activity was conducted at the PPs UMSU Campus, JI Denai No 217 Medan, on Saturday (8/7/2023).
Activities were organized by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UMSU and the Lions Club Medan Golden Scholar.
Appearing to be present at the opening ceremony, Vice Rector I UMSU Prof Dr. Muhammad Arifin SH MHum, UMSU Postgraduate Director Prof Dr. H Triono Eddy SH MHum, President of the Lions Club Medan Golden Scholar Agustina SE, SH., MH, Head of Intelligence at the Medan State Attorney Simon SH MH, UMSU postgraduate academics and hundreds of community members participating as donors.
UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani MAP, represented by Vice Rector I, Prof Dr. Muhammad Arifin SH MHum, in his remarks, said that this social service activity for blood donors is one form of implementation of the pillars of higher education as set out in the Tri Darma of Higher Education.
“Thank you to the Lions Club for collaborating with UMSU to organize this beneficial social activity,” said Prof. Arifin.
In her remarks, the President of the Lions Club Medan Golden Scholar, Agustina, said that this Social Service activity was held to commemorate the 433rd Anniversary of Medan City.
“I thank all parties, both donors and volunteers, who have supported the implementation of today’s activities,” said Agustina.
“Do not forget, and we also thank all donors. Ladies and gentlemen, the donors are heroes of humanity, while we are volunteers who connect donors with recipients of donors or those in need.
Also, in this activity, the UMSU Postgraduate and Lions Club Medan Golden Scholars assisted the donor participants through food parcels and medicines.
