Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) received four qurbani cattle from PT Telkom Indonesia in celebration of Eid al-Adha 1447 AH. The symbolic handover ceremony was held on Monday (May 25) in the VIP Room of UMSU’s main campus on Muchtar Basri Street No. 3, Medan.
The cattle were officially presented by Agung Tri Cahyono, General Manager of Telkom Regional Office Medan, and received by UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Akrim, M.Pd., accompanied by Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin, M.Hum.
In his remarks, Agung Tri Cahyono expressed hope that the qurbani donation would bring blessings to both the surrounding community and the UMSU academic community.
“We hope these four cattle will bring blessings and provide meaningful benefits to everyone. UMSU’s vision of becoming a world-class digital campus is truly remarkable,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rector Prof. Dr. Akrim expressed his appreciation for the longstanding partnership and support provided by PT Telkom Indonesia.
“Together, we have implemented many collaborative initiatives, particularly in capacity building. Today, Telkom has become one of UMSU’s largest partners by contributing four qurbani cattle. Our collaboration has brought many positive outcomes, and PT Telkom has consistently supported UMSU on numerous important occasions,” he said.
The Rector also expressed his hope that the partnership would continue to grow, particularly in advancing digital transformation across the university.
“We look forward to strengthening this collaboration. There are many opportunities for future initiatives, especially as we continue developing UMSU as a digital campus. We hope PT Telkom, with its expertise in digital transformation, will continue to support us in achieving this vision,” he added.
Prof. Akrim also thanked PT Telkom Indonesia for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contribution through the qurbani donation.
“We sincerely appreciate PT Telkom’s CSR support to UMSU. We hope these qurbani animals will provide meaningful benefits to the recipients. We also wish PT Telkom continued growth and success,” he concluded.
The ceremony was also attended by Sri Dwi Ningsih, Regional Enterprise Service Manager of PT Telkom Indonesia, along with UMSU bureau heads.
