Prof. Dr. Agussani MAP released the departure of two UMSU students to the National GenRe ambassador competition. Dwi Laila Shafira and Alvi Syahrin (both FAI and FISIP-UMSU students) became North Sumatra GenRe ambassadors after winning the North Sumatra competition in 2022 ago.
Dwi and Alvi advanced to the national election representing North Sumatra which the central BKKBN held in Yogyakarta on August 18, 2022.
Besides Dwi Laila Shafira, Indah Adelia won UKM PIK-M Syahadah and The Best Intelligence category.
The release of the two North Sumatran delegates occurred at the UMSU Rector Building, Jalan Muhtar Basri Medan, Friday (12/8), witnessed by Deputy Dean III of Fisip Yurisna Tanjung. He is also the founder of UKM PIK-M Syahadah UMSU, Deputy Dean III FAI Munawir Pasaribu, Head of Bureau Bimawa Radiman, Head of Bureau Public Relations Ribut Priadi and the management of UKM PIK-M Syahadah.
Prof. Agussani advised Dwi Laila Shafira and Alvin Syahrin, “Be a good communicator to the Young Generation. Keep the good name of UMSU.”
The Student Activity Unit (UKM) of the UMSU Student Information & Counseling Center is one of 14 SMEs on the Muhammadiyah campus. UKM PIK-M Syahadah plays a role in fostering the younger generation, especially in the Family Planning program.
Meanwhile, Duta GenRe is the selection event for role models and motivators among teenagers who will later provide insight to the younger generation about reproductive health and create youth free of drugs, free sex, and HIV/AIDS. UMSU is one of the campuses actively participating in the North Sumatra GenRe Ambassador competition.
Almost every year, UMSU students can win the GenRe Ambassador competition and later become delegates for North Sumatra at the national level. “SME PIK-M Syahadah has produced many of the best young cadres,” said Yurisna Tanjung. In addition to the National GenRe Ambassador Competition activities, UKM PIK-M Syahadah will also participate in the GenRe National Jamboree, which will take place in Cibubur.
