UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, represented by BPH Dalail Ahmad, M.A., directly opened the routine recitation of Ramadan 1445 Hijriyah on Monday (18/3) at the Taqwa Mosque UMSU Jalan Muchtar Basri No. 3 Medan.
The recitation is held annually during Ramadan, and competent speakers from Muhammadiyah are presented to give lectures and short studies.
On the first Sunday, the Regional Leader of Muhammadiyah (PWM) North Sumatra, Prof. Dr. H. Hasyimsyah Nasution, MA, was present as a speaker with the theme “Spirituality in the Era of Disruption.”
They were attended by the Vice Rector, Faculty Leaders, Lecturers, academicians, and UMSU students.
Dalail Ahmad opened the Ramadan recitation with a basmalah. In his remarks, he said that the month of Ramadan was the beginning of a struggle, and various trials would definitely be faced.
“Let us pray together and pursue religious studies so that our fasting can run smoothly and be blessed,” said Dalail.
Then, the recitation continued with a short lecture from Prof. Hasyimsyah; he said that Spirituality in the era of disruption has a very broad meaning; spirituality can be interpreted as spirit or soul, while disruption is a big change.
“So if someone fasts but his knowledge does not increase, it means he failed in one thing. Maybe his piety is successful, but his knowledge is not pious,” said Prof. Hasyimsyah.
He also invited the audience to continue to foster personality because no one can claim to be a good person, but what humans can do is become better.
This routine Ramadan recitation was closed with a question and answer session.
