Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) won three medals at the Abdidaya Ormawa Awards held at Jember University on Saturday (9/12). The accolades included 1 Gold Medal for the Best Implementation Team, 1 Silver Medal for the Best Student Organization, and 1 Bronze Medal for the Best Accompanying Lecturer.
The Gold Medal in the Best Implementation Team category was awarded to the PPK Ormawa HMJ Accounting Education Team. Their winning project titled “Ternak Hub, Teknologi Hilirisani Agribisris Peternakan Sebagai Intervensi BUM Desa Solusi CCG (Connect-Colaborate Grow) Economic SDGs of Kampung Kolam” impressed the judges. The Student Association of Accounting Education secured the Silver Medal for the Best Ormawa, while Sahran Saputera S Sos. MSP from Social Welfare Fisip claimed the Bronze Medal for the Best Accompanying Lecturer.
UMSU stood out among four teams in the pinnacle event of the PPK Ormawa competition, the Abdidaya Ormawa. These teams represented the IMM Faculty of Medicine, HMJ Accounting Education, HMJ Management, and HMJ Social Welfare. Before this success, six UMSU Ormawa PPK proposals had received funding.
Prof. Dr. Agussani. MAP, UMSU Rector, expressed high regard for the achievements of the UMSU Ormawa PPK team. He commended the exceptional creativity and capability exhibited by the students and student organizations at UMSU.
“Congratulations to the winners. The extraordinary creativity of our students, combined with their determination, is truly remarkable,” stated Prof. Agussani. He further acknowledged that while three teams received medals, the remaining teams were equally deserving, emphasizing that not all could be recognized in a competitive environment.
“Qualifying for Abdidaya is in itself a triumph. It is crucial to carry forward this success to the next generation,” Prof. Agussani affirmed.
