A total of 19 esteemed practitioners from 18 renowned professional partners, spanning state-owned enterprises, private companies, and government agencies, will grace the halls of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) as lecturers for one semester through the 4th Practitioner Teaching (PM) program.
This exceptional initiative, now in its fourth year, is a testament to our commitment to fostering collaboration between practitioners and lecturers, all with the singular aim of equipping our students with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in the world of work.
The 4th Teaching Practitioner Program was opened directly by WR III for Student Affairs, Alumni and Cooperation Dr. Rudianto, M.Si, Thursday (25/4) online. He expressed his gratitude to the partners willing and selected to collaborate in this activity.
“This program has been carried out four times to bring universities and industries closer together so that it will be more lively and collaborative in the future. UMSU strongly supports the MBKM program,” said WR III.
He hopes that this collaboration can unlock joint opportunities, mutually benefiting both academia and industry, and enlighten students about the dynamic world of work. Furthermore, this partnership will enable the campus to enhance its curriculum, drawing from the rich experiences and insights of our esteemed practitioners.
Then, Khafi Liza Alumni of Teaching Practitioners at UMSU said that for practitioners, this program is not just a variety of knowledge and experience but increases collaboration between industry and education.
“We get insights and images to improve the quality of students so that they can adapt to the industrial world,” said Khafi. He also suggested that a teaching practitioner standard be established as a guide to create innovation and creativity in classroom learning.
Based on a report from MBKM UMSU Teaching Practitioner PIC, Khairunnisa, S.E.I., M.M., this program will be implemented from April-June 2024, involving 19 practitioners from 18 partners with 22 courses taught.
