Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara welcomed the arrival of the Deputy Chair of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI), Dr. (HC). Zulkifli Hasan, SE, MM, with his staff at the UMSU VVIP Meeting Room – Jl. Kapten Muchtar Basri No.3, Medan, Friday (11/03).
The arrival of the Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI, Dr. (HC). Zulkifli Hasan, SE, MM, along with the ranks at UMSU, to visit and strengthen the relationship. Also present was a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Dr. H. Saleh Partaonan Daulay, M.Ag., M.Hum, MA, Plt. Regent of Langkat H. Syah Afandi, SH, Secretary General of PAN H. Eddy Soeparno, SH, MH, Deputy Secretary of North Sumatra PWM Drs. Mutholib, MM, and representatives from the North Sumatra Aisyiyah Regional Leadership.
At the meeting, UMSU Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, briefly told the journey of UMSU from time to time. He said that the struggle of Muhammadiyah in raising UMSU to date, having 16,526 students, was a long journey. UMSU Welcomes the Visit and Gathering of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia “UMSU is currently accredited A with two faculties that have been accredited with excellence, and there are already 39 Leaders of study programs. Thank God we have also registered with QS for international accreditation,” said Prof. Agussani.
He also reported the current conditions regarding the North Sumatra Muhammadiyah RSU, which used to be under the management of the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership, and has now been handed over to UMSU. The hospital had experienced developmental problems, but when it was managed by UMSU, it already had accreditation and won one star.
“I hope the North Sumatra Muhammadiyah General hospital can become a common concern. Thank Leader, for being present at UMSU. Hopefully, future changes in the government will be better,” said Prof. Agussani.
Welcoming this, the Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI (Republic of Indonesia’s member of Parliament), Dr. Zulkifli, gave tremendous appreciation for UMSU’s achievements from time to time.
“So, our Rector is extraordinary. Congratulations yesterday that you have been inaugurated as a professor, Mr. Rector, I’m sorry I wasn’t present, and congratulations on achieving excellent accreditation in the two faculties,” said Dr. Zulkifli.

Paying attention to the North Sumatra Muhammadiyah General Hospital, Dr. Zulkifli and his staff tried to provide assistance and attention to this matter. Because he Considers all of that for the whole time, Muhammadiyah has been fighting not only for Muhammadiyah but for all of Indonesia. For example, in Kupang, there are 7000 non-Muslim students at Muhammadiyah University.
“Muhammadiyah is Islam rahmatan lil alamin; that is called the great Islam,” said Dr. Zulkifli.
UMSU Welcomes the Visit and Gathering of Indonesia’s People’s Consultative Assembly. In addition, Dr. Zulkifli also discussed the 48th Congress, which will be held in Solo, Central Java, from 18-20 November 2022. According to him, the Congress was postponed for two years due to the epidemic, so there was a consensus, namely agreeing to violate the AD/ART so that there are no complaints. He also explained amendments, decrees, and agreements.
