Two students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) won first place in the 2024 Student Achievement Selection (Pilmapres) event at the North Sumatra regional level. The Pilmapres was opened directly by the Head of LLDIKTI Region I, Prof. Dr. Syaiful Anwar Matondang, at the UMN Alwashliyah Campus Hall, Jalan Gedung Arca, Medan, on Monday (6/5).
The two UMSU students, Yudi Febrianto from D3 Taxation, Faculty of Economics and Business in the Diploma Vice President category, and Nesya Alya Fazaya from the Faculty of Medicine in the Undergraduate Vice President category, have demonstrated exceptional dedication and hard work. Their success is a testament to UMSU’s commitment to excellence, as the university has consistently achieved first place in the Outstanding Student Selection event in North Sumatra for eight consecutive years.
UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, welcomed this fantastic achievement. He is proud that the two UMSU students managed to maintain the tradition of being the first winner of the Pilmapres in North Sumatra.
“Alhamdulillah, this is very proud; Yudi and Nesya can win first place in two categories at once. Achievements must be appreciated, “he said.
According to Prof. Agussani, UMSU’s success must be a spirit that maintains and improves student achievement in the future. Thus, consistent and sustainable coaching needs to be maintained.
Their victory was announced after they defeated dozens of other outstanding students. A team of judges rigorously assessed them. Assessment aspects include Excellence Achievement, English Language Skills, and Creative Ideas.
Based on the assessment results, Nesya Alya Fayyaza from the Faculty of Medicine UMSU in the Undergraduate category managed to excel from UNIMED, USU and UNPAD students. Meanwhile, Yudi Febrianto Samosir from D3 Taxation, Faculty of Economics and Business UMSU managed to take first place from students of Politeknik Negeri Medan, Stikes Mitra Husada to USU.
