The Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), Dr Faisal SH MHum, officially opened the Sports and Arts Festival (FONIS) with the opening of the Marching Variety Competition followed by 20 Paskibra Teams from various schools in Sumatra.
FONIS is a sports and arts competition event initiated by the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IMM) Faculty of Law UMSU. This event aims to explore the potential and creativity in the arts, both among students and students.
In his remarks, Dr Faisal, S.H., M.Hum, Dean of the Faculty of Law UMSU, accompanied by Dr Zainuddin, S.H., M.H and Dr Atikah Rahmi, S.H., M.H, expressed his appreciation to the IMM Faculty of Law for their initiative in organising FONIS.
‘We strongly support activities like this which can be a positive means of developing artistic talent, discipline, and creativity of the younger generation. Hopefully this event can be an inspiration for all participants to continue working,’ he said.
FONIS this time presents several interesting competitions, one of which is the variation of marching, which is attended by students from various schools in Sumatra.
The marching variation competition is expected to train discipline, teamwork, and team creativity in presenting the line with various attractive movements.
Other competitions include dance, music, painting, and literature, which are not only attended by UMSU students but are also open to students from outside the campus. The presence of participants from various schools in Sumatra added to the excitement and spirit of competition in this event.
The opening ceremony was marked by the beating of the gong by the Dean of the Faculty of Law UMSU, followed by art performances from several participants.
The support from the faculty and the enthusiasm of the participants showed the great interest of the younger generation in arts and cultural activities, which can be a positive provision for their future.
FONIS will last for the next few days and is expected to bring out young talents in various branches of art. In addition to adding valuable experience, this activity is also expected to strengthen the brotherhood and cohesiveness between students and students from various regions in Sumatra.
