4 UMSU Students Join Study Exchange in South Korea
Four Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara students passed the Student Exchange program to Gwangju, South Korea.
The release ceremony for students of the student exchange program initiated by the Medan City Government was carried out by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, represented by Vice Rector III, Dr. Rudianto, M.Si, and Medan City Government Representative Seri Inderahayu AS, M.Si in the VIP room of the UMSU Main Campus, Muchtar Basri Street No.3 Medan, Thursday (26/10).
Previously, 4 UMSU students were officially released by Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
UMSU became a university chosen by the Mayor of Medan, sending four outstanding students to participate in the Medan City Government program in collaboration with the City Government of Gwangju, South Korea. The program was held for two weeks, from October 31 to November 8, 2023.
“Of course not without reason. The Mayor of Medan appointed UMSU to be part of this program. This is a very extraordinary program for higher education. Congratulations to our children who represent UMSU and Medan City for qualifying for this program,” said Dr. Rudianto.
Rudianto explained that this program aligns with UMSJ’s vision to become a university with a global reputation for building civilization. One way to build a global civilization is to have more interaction with the global world or outside countries.
4 UMSU students passed this program, namely Nesya Alya Fayyaza (Faculty of Medicine), M. Ilham Firdaus (FAI), Elza Ahmad Raihan (FIKTI) and Salsabila Maisah Andani (FEB). The students were selected based on achievement, competence, and consideration.
Meanwhile, Medan City Representative Seri Inderahayu AS, S.Sos., M.Si conveyed that students should follow all programs according to the specified schedule.
“Please follow the existing rules by the briefing conducted. At the same time, they can provide good things and be brought to the city of Medan. Take positive things,” Ayu said.
On behalf of the students, Salsabila Maisah Andani from the Faculty of Economics and Business expressed her gratitude to the University, Pemko, and parents who have supported her in joining this program.
“This is an extraordinary opportunity, and I feel very proud. Thank you to the university for always supporting its students to excel. Hopefully, we can bring the good name of the Medan City Government and UMSU,” said Salsa enthusiastically.
