The Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP attended the graduation and oath of the 32nd batch of doctors and the promise of the 26th batch of young doctors, Saturday (13/5) at the UMSU Faculty of Medicine Hall, Jl. Gedung Arca No.53 Medan.
Based on the Dean’s decision letter of FK UMSU, 51 students of the doctor education profession study program and 5 students of the doctor education study program passed and were entitled to take part in the procession.
The judicium that was held felt special because the participants achieved a 100% pass of the Medical Professional Education Student Competition Test (UKM PPD). There were even two graduates who achieved perfect scores with a cumulative grade point average of 4, 0, namely. Oche Avena Yulhan and Mutiara Yusfah Putri.
UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP welcomed the proud news with gratitude and pride because since 2008, FK UMSU has continued to progress further.
“This pride is certainly a history, UKM PPD from 2008 the faculty of medicine was founded, at the age of 13 managed to achieve 100% passing of the doctor’s competency exam, this is very extraordinary. Very proud and this proves that our medical faculty is not canned, “said Prof. Agussani.
This success cannot be separated from the increasing quality of FK UMSU facilities and infrastructure. This achievement is also in line with the achievement of superior accreditation for FK UMSU’s medical profession and medical undergraduate study programs.
Dean of FK UMSU Dr. Siti Masliana Siregar, Sp. THT-KL (K) reported that students who graduated in this batch had also gone through a professional education process at the National SAR Agency (Basarnas) for two weeks. Learning to save patients in disaster-prone areas, this process is inseparable from the collaboration that FK UMSU has carried out with Basarnas since 2007.
Closing the graduation procession and young doctor’s promise, Prof. Agussani congratulated the graduation and thanked the students and parents who had entrusted the UMSU Faculty of Medicine. He also expressed his pride to Shofia Rahma Harahap, a FK UMSU student who made the university proud after successfully participating in an international student exchange in the 2022 IISMA program in Ireland.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mutiara Yusfha Putri Shihotang as the best graduate with a GPA of 4.0, motivated her classmates to continue to process and learn so that they could pass the coas 100% like her PPD UKM classmates. “Thank you to both parents who always prostrate and pray for our success,” she said.
Head of Deli Serdang Hospital, Dr. Hanip Fahri, MM, M.Ked (KJ), Sp.KJ, in his speech, congratulated and reminded the young doctors to continue to hone their skills, following developments in the world of medicine. He also asked the doctors to maintain professional integrity.
