PP Muhammadiyah, Mayor and Rector of UMSU, Attend the Inauguration of PDM- PDA Medan Period 2022-2027
General Secretary of PP Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Abdul Mu’ti, M.Ed, Mayor of Medan M. Bobby Afif Nasution, MM and Rector of UMSU Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, attended the inauguration ceremony of Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership and Aisyiyah Regional Leadership of Medan City for the period 2022-2027 at UMSU Auditorium Jl Kapt. Mukhtar Basri Medan, Sunday (3/9).
At the event, Prof. Mukti, Mayor of Medan and Rector of UMSU, congratulated and motivated the inaugurated PDM and PDA to maintain the mandate and collaborate to produce the young generation towards the golden Indonesia 2045.
The inauguration ceremony which was attended by a thousand invitations, also attended the 15th Gubsu Dato Seri Lelawangsa Syamsul Arifin, leaders and members of the North Sumatra and Medan DPRDs, Medan Pemko OPDs, North Sumatra and Medan Muhammadiyah leaders, North Sumatra Aisyiyah and Asyiyah Medan leaders, Islamic mass organizations, MUI, Kapolrestabes, Dandim, Basnas, vice-rectors, and UMSU academicians.
In the inaugural lecture, Prof. Mu’ti conveyed the key to carrying out a good mandate in the Muhammadiyah association, namely that it must be sincere, obedient, and istiqomah so that Muhammadiyah becomes more extensive, better quality, and able to answer the times that are experiencing disruption while remaining oriented to the Koran and Sunnah.
Prof. Mu’ti invited PDM and PDA not to forget Muhammadiyah’s identity as a tajdid movement and amal ma’ruf nahi munkar. “The organization’s identity requires Muhammadiyah not to be mediocre but must be of high quality or die in this age of disruption. The demand that we must be the best is a religious orientation enshrined in the Koran,” he said.
Prof. Mu’ti advised that the PDM and PDA who were inaugurated obediently carry out the mandate given, even though the mandate is a heavy burden but contains glory so that the mandate also means competence.
Prof. Mu’ti believes that the inaugurated PDM and PDA are experts in their fields. For this reason, it is natural that becoming a Muhammadiyah administrator is not easy but very selective.
Another essential point continued by Prof. Mu’ti is that in Muhammadiyah, people being given the office’s mandate is regular because one day, the imam (leader) must also become ma’mum (follower) so that the change of leaders is commonplace in Muhammadiyah. He continued that there is no need to justify all means when there is a leadership change.
Likewise, Prof. Mu’ti reminded us that in Muhammadiyah, it is not known to become a leader to get personal wealth.
“Maintain solidity, do not divide, get along well, avoid disputes, and take deliberation methods,” he said.
At the end of his speech, Prof. Mu’ti offered the 49th Muhammadiyah Congress to be held in North Sumatra. He said if Muhammadiyah Medan, North Sumatra, and UMSU accept this offer, it will be an extraordinary historical record. The offer was enthusiastically welcomed by Muhammadiyah residents and invitees who attended.
Meanwhile, Medan Mayor M. Bobby said he was proud to be present in the middle of the Muhammadiyah family. The Mayor admitted that he was ready to help morally and materially what was needed by the organization and the ideals of Muhammadiyah-Aisyiah in Medan City.
“I ordered the staff who attended the inauguration ceremony of PDM and PDA to take note of the needs of Aisyiah and Muhammadiyah for the benefit of the people and the nation,” he said.
The Mayor is proud to have PDM, PDA, and UMSU that can be invited to collaborate and produce young generations of prospective national leaders capable of competing in national and international events. For this reason, he continued, the Medan City Government will continue to support Muhammadiyah, Aisyiyah, and UMSU programs in realizing the 2045 golden generation. The Mayor is proud of UMSU students’ achievements in the international arena. In addition, the Mayor mentioned the success of UMSU’s collaboration with the Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM), Aisyiyah, and Muhammadiyah in organizing the Congress, which Indonesian President Jokowi successfully attended. “I am happy that the young generation’s event was a success,” he said.
Previously, UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, said the Muhammadiyah association cannot be separated from business charities. For this reason, he continued, UMSU is always ready to carry out Muhammadiyah activities and broadcasts, including the inauguration of PDM and PDA.
Prof. Agussani explained that the achievements of UMSU students in the international arena are part of Muhammadiyah’s ideals and missions in education and to realize a superior and competitive 2045 golden generation.
Prof. Agussani thanked Prof. Abdul Mu’ti, the Mayor of Medan, the 15th Gubsu Syamsul Arifin, and the invitees who had attended.

Then, the inaugurated Aisyiyah Regional Leadership (PDA) consists of Kholisani Nasution, S.Pd (chairperson); Hidayanti, S.Sos., M.I.Kom (secretary); Murniati, S.Ag (treasurer) and vice chairpersons: Dra Huzaimah, Mursida, Dra. Hj Erna Kusina, MPd, Murniati Lubis, SAg, Lisdawati, Arieyanti Dahlia and Cici Farianti.
