UMSU Rector Handed Over 1.6 Billion Scientific Publication Incentives Batch I 2023
The Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, handed over scientific publication incentives totaling Rp. 1.6 M (RP. 1. 628,408,000) to 300 UMSU lecturers. The handover was done directly on Saturday (2/9) at the UMSU Auditorium, Jalan Kapt. Muchtar Basri No.3 Medan.
The submission of incentives carried out two times a year, is a policy and culture at UMSU, and the aim is to motivate and reward the scientific work of permanent lecturers. The scientific publications given incentives include Journals, Proceedings, IPR, Books, and Journals from Thesis / Thesis / Dissertation to Keynote Speaker.
Based on a report from the Chairperson of the UMSU Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), Dr. Syaiful Amri Saragih, S.P., M.Sc, UMSU publications have exceeded the accreditation needs of Excellent Universities but are in the progress of internationalization.
He explained that the submission of Scopus article incentives in 2023 increased for Q1 by as many as 8, Q2 by as many as 5, Q3 by as many as seven, and Q4 by as many as 2. Then, the number of lecturers with Scopus ID in 2023 was 231. Then, the number of Scopus articles per year averages 58.
“In research collaboration starting from 2018 to 2023. UMSU has collaborated with Austria, France, Hungary, Jordan, Norway, Oman, Taiwan, Turkey, the U.K., Russia, Egypt, India, Iran, Japan, Pakistan, Vietnam, Iraq, and South Korea,” Syaiful explained.
Not only that, but the Head of LPPM also explained that UMSU had begun to enter publications in top-top journals, namely top ten journals, and had left fake journals. Then, publications in journals that enter the 1% most cited Journal.
Furthermore, UMSU Rector Prof. Agussani thanked LPPM and lecturers who had carried out research to publication well. He is sure the stages passed with cohesiveness and togetherness will produce the best.
“From the existing achievements, of course, this needs to be improved because the impact of recognition for the campus is extraordinary. Our partners abroad are no strangers to internationalization, seeing the number of foreign universities visiting UMSU, “said the Chancellor of UMSU.
He also hopes that lecturers can jointly teach DIKTI research and service grants so that the current governance can be maintained.
Symbolically, the UMSU Chancellor gave scientific publication incentives to lecturer representatives Dr. Emmi Purwoningsih, S.Pd. M.Kes (F.K., Scopus Q2 International Journal), Dr. Onny Medaline S.H., M.K. (Postgraduate Law, Sinta 2 National Journal), Dr. Khairun Niswa (FKIP, thesis/dissertation journal), Dr. Sigit Hardiyanto, S.Sos, M.lkom (FISIP, Book), Muhammad Taufik Lesmana, S.P.. MM (FEB, IPR) and Sri Utami, S.P., M.P. (FAPERTA, Proceedings).
Also present were Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin., M.Hum, Vice Rector II UMSU Prof. Dr. Akrim., M.Pd., Postgraduate Leaders, Faculty Leaders in the UMSU Environment, Heads of Study Programs and Heads of Bureaus at UMSU.
