The Halal Center at the University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra (HC UMSU) organized a socialization and education event regarding the issuance of halal certificates on Saturday, August 12th, at the Lintasan Baru Village Hall in the Patumbak District of Deliserdang Regency.
This activity was carried out with the aim of contributing to Indonesia’s goal of becoming a global hub for the Halal industry. This aligns with the mandate of Law Number 33 of 2014, which stipulates that products entering, circulating, and being traded within the territory of the Republic of Indonesia must be halal certified.
Halal certification represents the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety, security, and availability of halal products for the Indonesian population. Therefore, it is crucial for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (UMKM) to obtain halal certification. HC UMSU organized this education and socialization event to facilitate the certification process.
In response to the event organized by HC UMSU, Dedi Agus S, a prominent figure in the Lintasan Baru Village community, expressed his appreciation.
“The socialization and education provided by HC UMSU are very helpful, especially for business owners who already have businesses but have not yet obtained halal certification,” said Dedi.
