Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra (UMSU) in collaboration with the Sports Development Institute (LPO) of the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership (PWM) of North Sumatra held Run Mu 2024 which will be held at the UMSU platform on Sunday, 10 November.
According to the latest data, as many as 1,500 runners have registered and are ready to participate in Run Mu 2024 activities. The data is divided into two parts, namely 5 Km and 10 Km runners.
UMSU Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, M.AP responded to the progress towards the implementation of Run MU which was almost 100%. Prof. Agussani also said that this activity is expected to be able to become a forum for sports enthusiasm.
‘It is hoped that it will be able to become a forum to increase the spirit of sports. but also as part of UMSU’s efforts to encourage a healthy and sustainable lifestyle among the academic community and the general public,’ said Prof. Agussani.
Chairman of the LPO PWM SUMUT, Assoc. Prof. Dr Rudianto, M.Si on the occasion of the implementation of Run Mu 2024, also expressed his enthusiasm ahead of the activity,
‘We are very enthusiastic about this year’s Run Mu. With more than 1,500 participants who have registered, divided into 5 km and 10 km categories, we hope this event can be an event that not only tests physical endurance, but also strengthens the relationship between people. The presence of runners from all walks of life is clear evidence that sport can unite us in the same spirit,’ said Dr Rudianto.
Previously it was known that this activity was the second year UMSU and LPO organised. various careful preparations have been made and the race track has been well designed to provide comfort and safety for all participants. This was directly stated by the chairman of the committee Dr Mandra Saragih, S.Pd., M.Hum.
‘The facilities provided are almost 100%, starting from the registration area, medical posts, to drinking water points scattered along the running track,’ explained Dr Mandra.
Furthermore, Dr Mandra revealed that this preparation also includes a medical team to anticipate participants.
‘In addition, we have also prepared a medical team that is on standby along the running track and at the event location to anticipate any unwanted possibilities,’ he said.
