Medan: Lecturer of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara, Zulfikri, SE., MBA, Ph.D. (cand) was selected to attend the IIAS EUROMENA 2022 conference in Rome, Italy. A forum is a scientific event targeting scholars and public administration professionals worldwide.
The event aims to reflect contemporary themes through plenary sessions featuring speakers and parallel sessions featuring speakers selected based on a call for contribution,” said Zulfikri to reporters in Medan Tuesday (5/7). According to him, the IIAS conference also features social programs which aim to maintain networking opportunities among the participants. This conference has been running for more than 20 years, since 2001, and has been held in several countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. This year, it will be held in Rome, Italy, from 27 – 30 June 2022 at the University of Rome Tor Vergata. and LUISS Guido Carli University.
Furthermore, this event is organized by the Institute of International Administrative Sciences (IIAS), an international non-profit organization with scientific objectives. IIAS is a federation of member states, national sections, and academic research centers that jointly elaborate public administration solutions to today’s policy challenges.
IIAS was founded in 1930 and is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. IIAS is also a forum for autonomous international and regional institutions (IASIA, EGPA, AGPA & LAGPA). The conference was attended by IIAS members, scholars, academics, and practitioners from various countries selected to present their research and scientific contributions to public administration, public governance, the public sector, and public management.
Zulfikri, SE., MBA Ph.D. (cand) from UMSU was chosen to present his research on zakat administration in Indonesia with the title A conceptual framework of the blockchain technology adoption for zakat institutions in Indonesia. In his study, Zulfikri conceptualized the application of blockchain technology to zakat institutions in Indonesia to make zakat management more effective and efficient.
Blockchain technology was initially used to support crypto money transactions but is now widely used in various industrial sectors because blockchain technology is effective enough to keep track of information and transactions so that this technology is safe and transparent. This parallel session was chaired by Prof. Paolo Biancone, a professor of economics & business from the University of Turin, Italy.
