The Faculty of Islamic Studies at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (FAI UMSU) has officially signed a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) for the implementation of the 2025 In-Service Teacher Professional Education (PPG) Program for Madrasah teachers of general subjects. The signing took place on Wednesday (August 6) in South Tangerang.
The agreement was signed by Vice Dean I of FAI UMSU, Dr. Zailani, M.A., and the Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Committee, Thobib Al Asyhar. This collaboration marks a significant step in strengthening partnerships between higher education institutions and the government to enhance the competence and professionalism of madrasah teachers across Indonesia, particularly in the field of general education subjects.
In his remarks, Vice Dean I Dr. Zailani stated that the PPG program reflects FAI UMSU’s strong commitment to improving the quality of madrasah education.
“Through this program, we hope madrasah teachers can further develop their competencies in line with national education standards,” he said.
Meanwhile, Thobib Al Asyhar expressed his appreciation for FAI UMSU’s involvement as a strategic partner in ensuring the success of this year’s PPG program. He emphasized that madrasah teachers play a crucial role in nurturing a generation of students who are both intellectually capable and spiritually grounded.
The signing of this agreement serves as the starting point for the 2025 In-Service PPG activities, which will involve madrasah teachers from various regions and focus on strengthening professionalism in the teaching of general subjects.
