Medan, UMSU Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FIKTI), and Medan’s Google Development Group held Devfast 2022.
Devfast 2022, joined by around 400 developers and information technology students from several universities in Medan, took place at the UMSU Medan Campus on Saturday (26/11). The Dean of Fikti UMSU Al-Khowarizmi, M.Kom, officially opened Devfast. The event presented speakers from several experts in the field of technology, including from Singapore.
Al-Khowarizmi, at the opening of Devfast, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for entrusting Fikti-UMSU to be the host. Conference forums such as Devfast are expected to be able to provide various knowledge and information from the development of information technology. Fikti-UMSU is ready to support the IT developer community in Medan.
Al-Khowarizmi also explained the development of Fikti-UMSU, which is currently three years old. Fikti experienced quite encouraging developments. With 1,500 students, Fikti-UMSU continues to grow. ”
Thank God, Fikti UMSU has added a new study program, Data Science which is expected to become a favorite study program. Fikti UMSU now has two Information Systems and Information Technology study programs.
Developers Community
DevFests are local technology conferences hosted by Google Developer Groups (GDG).
Each DevFest event is created by its local organizer to suit the needs and interests of its local developer community. Through hands-on learning experiences, technical talks delivered in local languages by experts, or simply by meeting fellow local developers, DevFest attendees learn how to co-build and innovate on Google’s developer tools.
The Devfest 2022 activity organized by DGD Medan was attended by several experts, such as Veronica Putri (Software Engineer, Android), Kuan Hoong Poo (Lead Data Scientist), Dr. Amlia ( Head of Computer Science Department), Andrew Kurniadi ( Developer Expert – Android | Co-Founder), Doni Rubiagatra (Zero One Group – Cloud | Head of Engineering) and Dolly Aswin Harahap ( Xtend Indonesia -IT Director).
The Chairperson of the Medan WGD Padlian Chairi expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Rector of UMSU for facilitating the Medan DGD community meeting. The conference, attended by around 400 developers and IT students from several universities, is expected to provide significant progress, especially for the community in Medan.
Padlian Chairi also explained that the participation of the six tenants at the Medan WGD meeting opened opportunities and job opportunities.
