The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of the Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (FISIP UMSU) held the opening of the Field Experience Practices (PPL) and Field Work Practices (PKL) results seminar on Monday (23/1) at the UMSU Auditorium, Muchtar Basri Street No.3 Medan.
The opening of the seminar was attended by 396 students from 3 study programs, namely Social Welfare (73), Public Administration Science (63), and Communication Science (260), which was opened directly by the Dean of FISIP, Dr. Arifin Saleh, S.Sos, MSP. The results seminar will be held for three days, Tuesday – Thursday (23-25/1) in Parapat.
The Dean of FISIP UMSU said that the PPL & PKL results seminar is an annual activity that all students must follow as one of the requirements to graduate on time, which must be done before carrying out the thesis.
“We hope that the students present today can graduate soon in June, and hopefully, our activities will run smoothly. Let us carry it out cheerfully,” said the Dean of FISIP UMSU.
Not only that, Dr. Arifin also recalled and reminded FISIP UMSU students to support and oversee the 2024 elections by participating in voting and taking selfies at their respective polling stations.
On this occasion, Nur Azizah Matondang, one of the Communication Science students, conveyed her impression while studying at UMSU. She said that previously, she had never dreamed of being able to study at UMSU because of her family’s economic conditions, but thanks to UMSU, she was able to get a scholarship and excel.
“I previously did not dream that I could go to college from the lower middle class, I received scholarship assistance from Baznas through the achievement path. Mr. Zulfahmi, as a lecturer, is very motivating during lectures, and I am thrilled with his Islamic motivation, “said Nur Azizah.
This activity was closed with a group photo and was also attended by the Head of the Study Program at FISIP UMSU to the Field Supervisor (DPL).
