FKIP UMSU Tracks International Cooperation with Islamic Schools and State Universities in Davao Philippines
The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (FKIP UMSU), explored cooperation with several Islamic schools and universities in Davao, Philippines. This exploration was based on a working visit to the Philippines Thursday (7/9).
The working visit was carried out directly by the Dean, Dra. Syamsuyurnita, M.Pd and Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs, Dr. Dewi Kesuma Nasution, M.Hum, managed to get locations that could be partners in the International Education KKN program for the next period.
After conducting discussions with several educational institutions related to mutual and beneficial programs, both parties will follow up intensively to establish cooperation as stated in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA).
Dean of FKIP UMSU Dra. Syamsuyurnita said this tracking was inseparable from several references provided by the Indonesian Consul General in Davao, such as Wisdom Islamic School and Al Munawwara Islamic School.
“Observations and discussions carried out directly become a reference for FETT in the future to arrange other potential programs as part of campus internationalization,” she said. Dra. Syamuyurnita also said that the FKIP UMSU group was warmly, kindly welcomed and treated to Davao Muslim specialties.
In addition, FKIP UMSU is also exploring cooperation with the University of Southeastern Philippines. At the meeting, FETT UMSU was welcomed by the Director of the Institute of Languages and Creative Arts University of Southeastern Philippines, Sajed S. Ingilan, Director of Institute of Languages and Creative Arts, Dr. Angelo Lenard Yu, Program Head Language and Literature Program, Francis N. Reginio, Deputy Director for Publications, Noreena Dominique F. Apolinar, CAS International Affairs Head, Rey Kenneth, DevCom Specialist, John Marces and Publication Staff, Hannah Mae G. Lolong.
