General Secretary of PP Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu’ti said there were 96 names of candidates for general chairman of Muhammadiyah who were ready to fight on the agenda of the 48th Muktamar Muhammadiyah.
Through a tweet on his Twitter account, Abdul Mu’ti revealed the 96 names of candidates who entered the 13 leadership. They have the opportunity to become the next chairman of Muhammadiyah.
“In the Press Conference of the 48th Muktamar Muhammadiyah, a journalist asked about the upcoming chairman of Muhammadiyah,” as quoted from Abdul Mu’ti’s Twitter account, Monday (7/11/2022).
“I answered: Currently, there are 96 names of candidates for leadership. If those 96 people are included in their 13 leaders, they can become general chairmen,” he added.
Even so, Mu’ti still needs to disclose the names of the candidates for general chairman of Muhammadiyah.
In his tweet, Mu’ti also said that since Muhammadiyah was founded in 1912, the organization has developed a system-based leadership and does not depend on individuals.
“Since its establishment, Muhammadiyah has developed a collective-collegial leadership. Leadership in Muhammadiyah is based on SYSTEM, not depending on SINTEN (person),” he added.
The 48th Muktamar Muhammadiyah will be held in Solo City on November 18-20, 2022. One of the agendas of the Muktamar is to elect a new general chairperson of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive for the next period, or the 2022-2027 period, to replace Haedar Nashir.
Apart from that, this five-year event will also discuss issues of humanity, nationality, and universal humanity. Starting from discussing the 2024 election to the demographic bonuses that will be faced. (ndi)
