Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara released as many as 10 Engineering Faculty students to take part in internships at PT Waruna Shipyard Indonesia, one of the largest shipbuilding companies in Indonesia.
The release ceremony was carried out by the Rector, Prof.Dr. Agussani, MAP, was represented by Vice Chancellor I, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin, SH. M Hum at the Jalan Captain Mukhtar Basri campus, Medan, Saturday (5/11). Also present were the Dean of FT, Munawar Alfansuri, ST, MT, faculty leaders, and heads of bureaus.
Prof. Muhammad Arifin, SH.MHum, in his remarks, said that apprenticeships in companies can provide experience and hone skills according to the field of knowledge.
“Take advantage of the opportunity to take part in an internship to add insight and skills so that it is beneficial in the future,” he said.
He also advised students participating in internships to maintain discipline and ethics. Students are also expected to be able to demonstrate a work ethic and follow standard operating procedures set by the company at work.
