The National Coordination Meeting (RAKORNAS) of Muhammadiyah-Aisiyah Colleges (PTMA) was successfully held in Medan City, UMSU. As a result, the 2022 National Coordination Meeting was officially closed for three days, Thursday (26/5), at the Four Points Hotel Jl. Gatot Subroto No. 395, Medan.
The National Coordination Meeting was closed directly by the Deputy Muhammadiyah Chairman, Prof. Dr. Edy Suandi Hamid, M.Ec, also attended by UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, and the ranks and participants of the 2022 National Coordination Meeting. Before closing the National Coordination Meeting, Prof. Edy thanked UMSU for the banquet and welcomed the series of events. “On behalf of the Muhammadiyah Council of Higher Education R&D, I express my deepest gratitude. Furthermore, I hope that UMSU will not get tired of organizing events held by PP Muhammadiyah’s Diktilitbang Council,” he said.
In summary, he said that the results of the 2022 National Coordination Meeting would be followed up and the existing ideas formulated, especially regarding the Independent Accreditation Institute (LAM). Then, it was used as a Muhammadiyah Council of Higher Education R&D program.
Prof. Edy also spoke about the essence of a leader or leader. He made Prof. Agussani an example of a successful and influential leader in building higher education. He said, “I often called Pak Agussani; when he was inherited, UMSU did not have accreditation, and I know that tens of billions of debt have been left behind. Look at it now, there is no debt, and the assets have increased 1000%,” said Prof. Edy.
Not only that, the Chancellor of the University of Muhammadiyah Buton, Dr. Wa Ode Al Zarliani, MM, one of the participants of the National Coordination Meeting, representing the other participants, also praised UMSU for successfully holding the PTMA National Coordination Meeting with a very memorable impression. “There is nothing we can say; this Rakornas is very memorable and valuable. We are delighted to be in Medan; the materials presented are very competent,” said Dr. Wow Ode.
UMSU Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, as the host, also conveyed that what had been done during the National Coordination Meeting would be very useful for Muhammadiyah-Aisiyah Colleges in Indonesia. Therefore, learning from each other and filling in between universities is necessary. “We, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara, are undoubtedly open anytime to come to UMSU. Therefore, we are most important about how to start guests, “said Prof Agussani.
Then, he described UMSU governance that has been carried out and has become a habit. At UMSU, authority always builds cohesiveness from the Rectorate to the Faculty level.
“When it comes to governance, the process of implementing the National Coordination Meeting shows that this is our governance,” he said.
Prof Agussani also hopes that at the next National Coordination Meeting, it is necessary to build an atmosphere of higher education where business charities are integrated with Muhammadiyah and go hand in hand. According to him, there is no meaning in managing a university if it does not promote business charities and Muhammadiyah. (Pny)
