The Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, escorts 370 students of the Faculty of Law class 2017 and 2018 as participants in Clinical Law and Moot Court. The event was held on Thursday (27/1) at the UMSU Auditorium – Jl. Captain Muchtar Basri No. 3 – Medan.
Attended by the Rector of UMSU Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, Muhammadiyah Regional Leader Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Gultom, M.Pd, Chairman of the Indonesian Ombudsman Mokhammad Najih, SH, M.Hum, P.Hd, Dean of Faculty of Law UMSU Dr. Faisal, SH, M. Hum along with the deputy deans, Heads of Sections and Lecturers in the UMSU Faculty of Law.
Symbolically, the Rector of UMSU and the Chairman of the Indonesian Ombudsman released the UMSU Law Faculty students who were participants in the Legal and Motu Judicial Clinical. This symbol is pinned to the Faculty of Law student representative, Bachtiar Ahmad Sibrani, a figure and cadre of Muhammadiyah and serves as the Regional Head in Central Tapanuli. The Chairman of the Indonesian Ombudsman, Mokhammad Najih, also agreed to the extended release of Ricky Selanjani Harefa and Mira Oktariani.
Prof. Agussani states, “I hope this program can strengthen all students. Later, when carrying out legal and quasi-judicial clinical practice, students will be able to maintain the good name of the alma mater. We believe that UMSU students will be easily placed wherever they are.”
After being officially released, the students participating in the Legal and Moot Judicial Clinics were provided with knowledge through public lectures with the Chairperson of the Indonesian Ombudsman and the Criminal Assistant of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office. The implementation of the release activities managed by the members of the Faculty of Law cannot be separated from careful planning.
