UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, officially released 535 The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) students. They participated in Self-Identity in Introduction to the School Field (PLP) Batch 7. The release was held on Saturday (21/5) at UMSU Main Field – Jl. Muchtar Basri No.3, Medan.
Since 2016 after the curriculum transformation, The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UMSU students have carried out PLP activities starting in the fourth, fifth, and seventh semesters. The hybrid program conducts five sections offline and two online due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The 7th PLP was carried out directly in 52 schools collaborating with UMSU regarding PLP, the Teacher Certification Program (PPG), Tanoto Foundation, and others. The implementation zones are divided into Medan and Deli Serdang, consisting of 30 Elementary Schools (SD) and 22 High schools or vocational schools.
The UMSU Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, M.AP, encouraged students who participate in Self-Identity in Introduction to the School Field (PLP) Batch 7. “Today, we release students to do PLP 1; this is delightful and sincere and cannot be separated from the management of the faculty until the university carries out this activity,” the Rector said.
Then, the Dean of FKIP UMSU Assoc. Prof. Dra. Syamsuyurnita, M.Pd, said that PLP is a place for student observation to directly see life in the education unit, practice compassion and responsibility, and grow educators’ identity.
PLP participants consist of 46 students of Mathematics Education Study Program, 48 Indonesian Language Education Study Program students, 79 English Language Education Study Program students, 16 students of Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKN), 19 Accounting Education Study Program students, and the most dominating 278 PGSD Study Program students. They are expected to maintain the good name of the faculty. And universities.
Assoc. Prof. Dra. Syamsuyurnita, M.Pd, said, “Our message as the Head of the Faculty and the academic community is that students can comply with the rules during PLP, following the provision of ethics and rules in the field. However, please protect the good name of the alma mater, university, and faculty,” the Dean of FKIP ordered.
535 FKIP students were officially released by attaching identification marks by the UMSU Chancellor to students who will carry out PLP 1. This release was also attended by Vice Rector I UMSU Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin Gultom, M. Hum, WR II Assoc. Prof. Dr. Akrim, M.Pd, Leaders of the UMSU FKIP Dean and PLP Field Supervisors. (Pny)
