Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara is one of the 25 favorite universities in Indonesia that participates in the Media Group Online Scholarship Competition (OSC) program. At the OSC Award 2021 announcement event at Studio Metro TV Jakarta on Saturday (22/1/2022).
UMSU fetched 20 prospective students who have superior achievements in the academic field and an interest in talent from various provinces in the country. The announcement and submission of prospective students were carried out directly by the CEO of Media Group, the Chairman of the Surya Edukasi Bangsa Foundation, M Mirdal Akib, and the CEO of Medcom.id Kania Sutisnawinata witnessed by the Minister of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia Jonny G Plate and CEO of Metro TV Don Bosco Salamun to 25 favorite PTS leaders in Indonesia. “UMSU with A Accreditation, every year always looks for excellent students to be educated to become quality graduates. However, with the OSC program from the Media Group, we are lucky because we get better quality seeds even from all over the country,” he said.
According to Mirdal Akib, UMSU deserves to be grateful to the Media Group, which has facilitated through the OSC and involved UMSU in this program.
At the press conference, Medcom. Id CEO Kania Sutisnawinata and Media Group M CEO Mirdal Akib also gave information. The Media Group is pleased to join UMSU in 2021 in the OSC, the only private university in Sumatra that is involved in this program. In the 2021 OSC selection, there are more than 40 thousand applicants, while the scholarships provided are more than 500. The selection includes a track record of academic and non-academic achievements and the economic limitations of prospective students. In addition, academic potential tests and interviews were also conducted.
In that activity, UMSU’s Vice Rector III, Dr. Rudianto.M.Si, represented the Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani.MAP had the opportunity to represent the PTS leadership by giving a statement at a press conference on the sidelines of the event. According to him, UMSU is enthusiastic about the presence of 20 excellent student candidates from all over Indonesia through the OSC program. UMSU is ready to welcome and guide the best sons and daughters of the archipelago. They will study for 8 semesters with the Education Development Fund and Cost of Providing Education free scholarship facilities. He believes that by looking at UMSU, which has an A accreditation, these excellent children in Indonesia will be increasingly honed, and their achievements and future will be brighter.
