A total of 46 students from SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru, accompanied by Principal Nashir, M.Pd., the Vice Principal, and homeroom teachers, visited Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) for a study tour held at the FEB Hall on Jalan Muchtar Basri No. 3, Medan, Wednesday (January 28).
The visit aimed to broaden students’ understanding of higher education and motivate them in choosing their future field of study.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UMSU, Dr. Radiman, M.Si., the Head of UMSU Promotion Unit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arifin, M.Pd., along with international students from Nigeria, Cambodia, and Thailand.
Principal Nashir, M.Pd., expressed his emotion and pride in witnessing UMSU’s remarkable development.
“I am deeply moved to see how UMSU has grown over the past 20 years since I graduated. Its progress deserves appreciation, as its alumni are not only high achievers but also successful in various fields,” said Nashir.
He encouraged his students to pursue their higher education at UMSU, highlighting its excellent accreditation status and comprehensive facilities.

“Studying at UMSU means interacting not only with Indonesian students but also with international students. We also provide international class programs,” Radiman explained.
Additionally, Dr. Radiman shared five important tips for choosing a university: consider the institution’s accreditation, the completeness of its facilities, collaboration opportunities, as well as the track record and achievements of its alumni.

“Before choosing a university, students should review its accreditation, facilities, partnerships, and alumni success,” he added.
At the end of his remarks, Radiman extended a warm welcome to the entire group.
“Welcome to Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara. We hope this visit brings valuable insights and inspiration to all of you,” he concluded.
