UMSU and Bank Sumut Forge Potential Collaboration for Mutual Growth
Medan, December 21, 2023 – In a significant rendezvous, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, the esteemed Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), extended a warm reception to the President Director of Bank Sumut, Babay Parid Wazdi, and his entourage. The meeting at the UMSU VIP Room on Muchtar Basri Street No.3, Medan, on Thursday (21/12) aimed to fortify ties and delve into potential collaborative ventures between the academic institution and the esteemed bank.
During the engaging discourse, Babay, the President and Director of Bank Sumut, expressed a keen interest in fostering collaboration with UMSU. His enthusiasm stemmed from the university’s remarkable progress and the noteworthy achievements of its alums across diverse professional spheres.
“I’ve observed the prominent presence of UMSU alumni within the banking sector,” remarked Babay, emphasizing the potential for collaboration.
Babay proposed multifaceted collaboration avenues, encompassing research and internships, scholarship initiatives, legal assistance programs, and the implementation of the Bank Sumut Goes Campus program.
In response, Prof. Agussani underscored UMSU’s wealth of untapped student creativity and projects that could be harnessed effectively in collaboration with Bank Sumut.
“The creativity and endeavors of our students are exceptional, yet untapped potential exists. Furthermore, UMSU supports Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in various fields. Hence, there is ample room for collaboration to steer future developments,” the Rector of UMSU emphasized.
The meeting featured insightful discussions between the Managing Director of Bank Sumut and UMSU representatives, including the Dean of Law, PUSKIBI, Halal Center, and other key stakeholders. The discussions revolved around identifying and exploring potential collaborative initiatives.
The visit culminated positively with exchanging symbolic souvenirs, signifying the initiation of a potential partnership, and a group photograph commemorating the occasion.
Distinguished attendees included Vice Rector II, Prof. Akrim, M.Pd., Vice Rector III, Dr. Rudianto, M.Si, Deans, and representatives from various UMSU institutions. Additionally present were Dr. Radiman, S.E, Head of the Student Affairs Bureau, Sofyan Hadi as Sharia Fund Staff, Ikhwanul Husain as Deputy Sharia Branch Manager, and their respective staff members. The collective presence underscored the significance and potential of the collaborative dialogue between UMSU and Bank Sumut.
