The UMSU Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, and Tadulako University (UNTAD), Prof. Dr. Ir. Amar, ST., MT, officially sealed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration in the Tridharma of Higher Education, specifically the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). The signing ceremony occurred on Monday (4/12) at the UMSU Meeting Room, Muchtar Basri Street No.3, Medan.
Expressing pride in the collaboration, the UNTAD Rector highlighted UMSU’s significance as one of the largest Muhammadiyah Aisyiyah Universities and the sole institution with superior accreditation outside Java Island.
“The collaboration between UMSU and UNTAD can be extended to encompass implementation and research,” stated the UNTAD Rector.
Similarly, Prof. Drs. Amamh Wahid M.Diah., M.Si., Ph.D., Head of UNTAD’s MBKM Center, emphasized the substantial presence of UMSU students engaged in MBKM at Tadulako. He stressed the necessity of collaboration with UMSU, considering it a recommended Muhammadiyah Higher Education.
Echoing this sentiment, UMSU’s Rector, Prof. Agussani, affirmed its unwavering commitment to managing MBKM and its openness to this collaboration.
“We hope this collaboration will generate an impact between UMSU and Tadulako, resonating in Medan and Palu. Our aspiration is for this collaboration to transcend mere documentation,” expressed Prof. Agussani.
Beyond their dedication to the MBKM program, the Rector emphasized UMSU’s receptiveness to fostering student creativity.
Adding to this discussion, Ariyati Rizki Amelia, a UNTAD student engaged in PMM at FISIP UMSU, shared her positive experience, expressing her warm welcome and comfort while studying at UMSU. She highlighted the opportunity to immerse herself in Medan’s culture and savor its culinary delights.
“The lecturers are exceptionally friendly and kind. At UMSU, I found inspiration about the city of Medan and could easily interact with other amiable students,” noted Rizki.
The MoU signing event saw the presence of UMSU’s Vice Rectors, Heads of Faculties and Study Programs, UMSU’s OIC Team, UMSU’s MBKM Team, as well as UNTAD’s Rector Secretary, Asriani, S.Pd., M.P.
