UMSU Lecturer Prepares Disabled-Friendly Mosque at Taqwa Mosque Johor
Medan: Three UMSU lecturers from 3 faculties conducted the Muhammadiyah Development Partnership Program by fostering a disabled-friendly mosque in Medan Johor on Saturday (19/6).
The program was built by Dr. Mohd Yusri M.Si, Head of the lecturer team at The Faculty of Social Science and Politics UMSU, then Robie Fanreza, S.PdI., M.PdI from the Faculty of Islamic Religion UMSU and Zulkifli Siregar MT from the Faculty of Engineering UMSU.
Dr. Mohd Yusri MSi said that the mosque has a worship function and economic and social functions. For this reason, through this PKPM, it is hoped that it can motivate PRM and BKM Muhammadiyah Mosques to pay attention to providing facilities for people with disabilities.
Yusri said that to help the PRM and BKM Masjid, the PKPM UMSU team provided technical designs for stair facilities and wuduk facilities for the disabled. With this design, it is hoped that it can help mosque administrators, explained Yusri.
Meanwhile, Chairman of PRM Medan Johor Aminuddin Harahap expressed his appreciation to the PKPM UMSU team for paying attention to the Taqwa Medan Johor mosque. In the partnership program, the PKPM UMSU team gave assistance in the form of chairs for the disabled in carrying out prayers and books to strengthen mosque literacy. (Syaifulh/Riz)
