Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) has officially received the Ministerial Decree approving the establishment of the Undergraduate Digital Business Study Program under the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) from the Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology.
The decree was handed over through the Head of LLDIKTI Region I North Sumatra Saiful Anwar Matondang, represented by Head of the Institutional and Cooperation Working Team Rika Devi Yanti Nasution, on Wednesday (May 6) at the LLDIKTI Region I North Sumatra Office on Jalan Sempurna No. 8, Medan.
During the ceremony, Rika Devi Yanti Nasution expressed her enthusiasm over the approval of the new study program. She stated that the licensing process for the program proposed by UMSU had been successfully completed.
“We are delighted to hand over the ministry’s official decree for this new study program. We are proud because UMSU has shown remarkable speed in developing and expanding new academic programs,” she said.
Meanwhile, UMSU Rector Akrim expressed gratitude for the issuance of the decree for the Undergraduate Digital Business Program. He also appreciated the support and guidance provided by LLDIKTI throughout the application and approval process.
“We are committed to making this study program one of the proudest academic programs at UMSU. The application process took approximately six months, and we are grateful that it has now become a reality,” he stated.
Furthermore, UMSU has also submitted proposals for several additional undergraduate programs, including Psychology, International Relations, Anesthesia, and Cyber Security.
The Rector emphasized that the Digital Business Study Program will become a new strength for UMSU in providing educational services to the community while addressing future business and industry demands.
“This program is designed to adapt to technological advancements, encourage the emergence of future startups, and become a field of study with strong future prospects,” he explained.
Also attending the event were Secretary of the UMSU Board of Trustees Mutholib, Board member Dalail Ahmad, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Radiman along with the Vice Deans, heads of study programs within FEB UMSU, the FEB Task Force Team, and bureau heads across UMSU.
