Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) and the Tanjung Balai City Government signed the MoU text Friday (18/02) in the UMSU Meeting Room – Jl. Mukhtar Basri, No. 3 – Medan.
This signing was carried out to strengthen commitment and collaboration in organizing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education (teaching, research, and development, as well as community service).
The MoU manuscript was signed by the Rector of UMSU, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, and Mayor of Tanjung Balai H. Waris Thalib, S.Ag, MM, accompanied by representatives and witnessed by the Assistant for Development and Development of Tanjung Balai City, Drs. Zainul Arifin, Acting Head of Tanjung Balai City Bappeda Zul Abdiman, Head of Tanjung Balai City BKD Drs. Abu Hanifah.
After the challenge of the MoU, in his remarks, the Rector of UMSU, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, introduced a glimpse of UMSU’s development from year to year, continuing to be committed to institutional collaboration between universities, government, and industry.
“We are ready to collaborate in partnerships not only through challenges on paper, but this collaboration is how we can benefit each other from collaboration,” said Prof. Agussani.
Meanwhile, the Acting Mayor of Tanjung Balai H. Waris Thalib, S.Ag, M. said that UMSU did not lag behind other well-known universities based on the assessment and evaluation. He also hopes this collaboration can provide a glimmer of hope that will produce tangible results to contribute to each other, especially in improving and educating the city of Tanjung Balai. “The Tanjung Balai City Government believes that UMSU has tremendous potential,” said Thalib.
The signing of the MoU ended with the delivery of souvenirs from UMSU to the Tanjung Balai City Government and a group photo.
