The University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra (UMSU) achieved the top ranking among Muhammadiyah and Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (PTMA) in Indonesia as the university with the most teams qualifying for the 2025 Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) Expo under the Student Entrepreneur Development Program (P2MW).
UMSU Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, M.AP., expressed his appreciation for the dedication and hard work of the students, supervising lecturers, and the Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Business Incubation (PUSKIIBI). He stated that this achievement reflects the university’s strong commitment to fostering entrepreneurship among students.
“This accomplishment shows that UMSU students excel not only academically but also possess innovative and creative entrepreneurial skills. The university will continue to fully support every initiative that enhances student independence and competitiveness at the national level,” said Prof. Agussani.
Meanwhile, the Head of PUSKIIBI, Assoc. Prof. Dewi Andriany, S.E., M.M., expressed her gratitude for this outstanding achievement.
“We thank the university for its continuous support of all student entrepreneurship activities,” she said.
She added that the four qualifying teams are currently being prepared to compete at the 2025 KMI Expo through presentation training and Q&A sessions facilitated by the PUSKIIBI team.
“We are also preparing the best products to showcase at the expo,” she added.
Four UMSU student teams successfully qualified for the prestigious event, presenting innovative business products in two categories:

The KMI Expo is a national event organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) to showcase student business innovations from across Indonesia. The Student Entrepreneur Development Program (P2MW) serves as a platform for students to develop their business ideas into economically valuable and sustainable products.
With this achievement, UMSU once again reaffirms its position as one of the leading universities in entrepreneurship within the PTMA network and at the national level.
