UMSU’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, officially handed over appointment decrees (SK) to 7 International Guest Lecturers hailing from the University of Malaysia Perlis (UNIMAP) and University Sains Malaysia (USM). The decree presentation occurred on Wednesday (6/12) at the UMSU Campus Meeting Room, Muchtar Basri Street No.3, Medan.
These guest lecturer appointments are associated with the recently concluded “Visiting Lecture” program, conducted over 2 days from Tuesday to Wednesday, December 5-6, 2023. The public lecture featured insights from 7 international lecturers from UNIMAP and UMS across various faculties at UMSU.
The seven distinguished international guest lecturers comprise 6 lecturers from UNIMAP: Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. R. Badlishah Ahmad, Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Anuar Mat Safar, Dr. Sharmini Abdullah, Assoc. Prof. Muhammad Rezal Hamzah, Ph.D, Dr. Rozilawati Mahadi, and Dr. Habee Bullah Affandy. Additionally, there was 1 lecturer from USM, Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohd Rizal Arshad.
Expressing his thoughts, Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. R. Badlishah Ahmad conveyed the necessity for a comprehensive plan in the future to enhance collaboration, emphasizing his interest in research collaborations during his discussion with the UMSU Rector.
The UMSU Rector, in his address, highlighted the significance of the collaborative partnership among UMSU, UNIMAP, and USM as an invaluable opportunity.
“This marks a significant breakthrough as it underscores our commitment to implement established cooperation. We thank the professors for their valuable public lectures to our students. Subsequently, we aim to delve deeper into discussions on further collaboration plans, including potential research endeavors,” expressed Prof. Agussani, joined by Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Akrim, M.Pd, and Dr. Rudianto, M.Si.
He further emphasized that the recent visiting lecture initiative and the conferment of guest lecturer appointments exemplified the practical realization of the collaborative efforts among UMSU, UNIMAP, and USM.
The Decree presentation followed discussions on potential future collaborations and cooperative efforts. Notable attendees included the Heads of UMSU Faculties and Study Programs.
