The Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, handed over a scientific publication incentive worth 3 billion in batch 1 and batch 2. Symbolic submission by UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, at the UMSU Auditorium, Jalan Muchtar Basri, No. 3 Medan, Friday (10/3).
Based on the explanation of the Rector of UMSU, Prof. Agussani, submission of publication incentives including journals, proceedings, HKI, books, and journals from theses/thesis/dissertations to keynote speakers. It is divided into two, namely, the 1st Batch worth Rp. 1,149,894,800 (1.1 billion), and the 2nd batch is Rp. 1,977,550,000 (1.9 billion), bringing the total to 3 billion.
The delivery of this incentive has become a commitment and culture at UMSU to encourage lecturers to do research and publications. This can be seen from the increasing position of UMSU in Sinta, namely in 2023, ranked 37th, an increase compared to 2022, which was ranked 47th.
Prof. Agussani thanked all lecturers and the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM UMSU) for their cooperation. “I thank you immeasurably for the implementation of batches 1 and 2. Everything is inseparable from working together,” said Prof. Agussani.
Meanwhile, on behalf of the lecturers, the Chairman of LPPM UMSU, Dr. Syaiful Amri, M.Sc, expressed his gratitude for being appreciated and supported. He also explained that UMSU, which has been accredited superior, has challenges going forward, namely increasing the number of Scopus articles and research collaborations to international service. There must be at least 60 studies.
“The target is 3-5 years, 1000 Scopus articles. Currently, it is still at the level of 274 articles and still implementing 100 articles per year,” said Syaiful.
He said he was very open to suggestions and input from all UMSU lecturers regarding research improvement, dedication, and publication. The incentives were symbolically handed over to Dr. Nurfadly, MKT, Atikah Rahmi, S.H., M.H, Dr. Lutfi Basit, S.Sos., M.I.Kom, Dr. Hasrudy Tanjung, SE, M.Si, Ahmad Marabdi Siregar, S.T., M.T, Dr. Muhammad Fitra Zambak, ST., M.Sc.
