Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) has officially sent off six students to participate in a student exchange program at INTI University, Malaysia. The send-off ceremony, on behalf of UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, was conducted by Vice Rector III Dr. Rudianto, M.Si at the VIP Room of the UMSU Campus on Muchtar Basri Street No. 3, Medan, on Monday (29/12).

The six selected students are Syahfurah Syaiful (Management, Faculty of Economics and Business), Dzaki Hanif Nurrahman Batu Bara (Islamic Banking, Faculty of Islamic Studies), Nazwa Amelia (Data Science, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology), Fikri Gilang Adilah (Islamic Business Management, Faculty of Economics and Business), and Hawa Sakinah (Accounting, Faculty of Economics and Business).

This annual program is held twice a year and forms part of UMSU’s strategic international collaboration.

Vice Rector III Dr. Rudianto, M.Si congratulated the students and emphasized the importance of making the most of this opportunity.

“Congratulations to the students who have been selected for the credit transfer program. You are very fortunate, as not everyone is given this opportunity,” he said.

He noted that INTI University Malaysia is a highly reputable institution that offers valuable international academic exposure. “The learning environment there is different, the atmosphere is unique, and the quality is outstanding. International experiences like this play a significant role in shaping students’ personal and academic development,” he added.

Dr. Rudianto further encouraged students to actively build networks and remain confident throughout the program. “Make an effort to connect with everyone, be confident, and do not feel inferior. Share knowledge and experiences. You are on the right path,” he advised.

The credit transfer program is also part of UMSU’s institutional strengthening and a follow-up to its international accreditation achievements. “For faculties and study programs, this is a recorded achievement and a continuation of the FIBAA international accreditation pathway. Keep up the spirit,” he concluded.

Earlier, INTI Program PIC Eri Yanti Nasution, S.E., M.Ec explained that the selection process for the first batch of 2026 was conducted rigorously through document screening and interviews.

“Our annual program is conducted twice a year. For the first batch of 2026, the process began with document selection and interviews. She added that all administrative arrangements for departure, including visa processing and student briefing sessions, had been prepared well in advance.

Representing the Faculty of Economics and Business, student Zahira Hanafiah expressed gratitude to all parties who supported and facilitated the program.
