Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) secured two remarkable achievements at the 2025 Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM) Awards organized by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.
The first award recognized UMSU as one of the Most Productive Universities in Cluster II for the 2025 PKM Funding Scheme. The second award was presented to Dr. dr. Humairah Medina Liza Lubis, M.Ked.(PA)., Sp.PA., a lecturer at UMSU’s Faculty of Medicine, who was named the Supervisor with the Highest Number of Funded PKM Titles in 2025.
This national award ceremony was held at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Bandung, on Sunday (26/10), and attended by university leaders from across Indonesia. UMSU was represented by SRCC Chair Dr. Fatimah Sari Siregar, M.Pd, and Dr. dr. Humairah Medina Lubis, M.Ked., Sp.PA, who directly received the award plaques.
In the Cluster II Most Productive Universities category, UMSU earned a spot in the national top three with 20 funded PKM titles—placing it alongside Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (26 titles) and Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (24 titles).
Meanwhile, the award presented to Dr. Humairah Medina Liza Lubis reflects national recognition of her dedication in guiding students to produce creative, innovative, and impactful ideas.
UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP expressed his appreciation and pride for this achievement.
“Alhamdulillah, this accomplishment demonstrates UMSU’s consistent commitment to nurturing innovation among students. This success is the result of hard work from supervisors, students, and the support of the entire academic community. We will continue strengthening our creative ecosystem so that UMSU students can compete and contribute to national development,” said Prof. Agussani.
He added that this achievement also reflects UMSU’s progress in realizing its vision of becoming a World Class University with excellence in research, innovation, and global collaboration.
Notably, UMSU has secured awards at this event almost every year. The PKM Awards are a prestigious annual program organized by the Ministry to recognize outstanding students, supervisors, and higher education institutions in implementing the Student Creativity Program (PKM). The program serves as a key indicator of student development success and the advancement of research and innovation in Indonesian universities.
