A total of 381 students from the Faculty of Law at the University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra (UMSU) are participating in the Real Work Lecture Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata or KKN), including both regular and international KKN.
The farewell ceremony was held on Friday, August 24th, at the UMSU Auditorium on Jalan Muchtar No. 3 in Medan.
The departure of the students was officiated by UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, who was represented by WR 1 Prof. Arifin Gultom, M.Hum. There are 381 regular KKN students deployed in three regions: Medan, Deliserdang, and Binjai, along with 25 international KKN students in Malaysia and 6 international KKN students in Bangka Belitung.
In his address, Prof. Arifin emphasized that as students of the Faculty of Law, they should be independent, firm, and strong. Especially when carrying out KKN, law faculty students should embody the characteristics of Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyaahan, ensuring that they do not neglect their religious duties during their activities.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Faisal, S.H., M.Hum, expressed his hope that the departing students would not only engage in community service but also convey legal messages or issues through socialization and education.
“Do service that the community will remember. As law students, don’t just perform community service, but convey the legal advocacy you have learned. Take care of yourselves and each other and be solution-oriented. Don’t create problems but seek solutions to problems,” emphasized the Dean of the Faculty of Law.
The 381 law students participating in KKN were officially sent off with a symbolic handover of their identification. Also in attendance were Deputy Dean I Dr. Zainuddin, S.H, M.H, Deputy Dean III Atikah Rahmi, S.H, M.H, as well as all Field Supervising Lecturers (DPL) and KKN 2023 student participants.
