Four joint research project proposals in engineering between UMSU and the University of Malaysia Pahang were presented online via Zoom meeting Friday (31/3). The four standard research plans are all projects involving lecturers and researchers from the Faculty of Engineering UMSU and the University of Malaysia Pahang or UMP.
The research proposal presentation was attended by Vice Rector for Research at UMP Malaysia Prof. Kamal Zuhairi; Deputy Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni and Collaboration at UMSU Dr. Rudianto, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering UMSU Munawar Alfansuri MT, Dean for Research at UMP Malaysia Prof. Mohd Hasbi, Chair of LP2M UMSU Syaiful Amri Saragih Ph.D, Deputy Dean I of FT UMSU Ade Faisal Ph.D and lecturers and researchers from the two universities involved in this research project.
UMP Malaysia Assistant Counselor Prof. Kamal explained that UMP Malaysia welcomed this joint research because it would benefit the campus and researchers. The University of Malaysia Pahang has assigned lecturers and researchers to discuss technical research proposals with lecturers from UMSU intensely.
Meanwhile, Vice Rector Dr. Rudianto explained that this collaboration was a follow-up to UMSU’s plan to build an international network through joint research, scientific publications, and other academic activities.
Regarding the implementation, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering UMSU, Munawar Alfansury said the proposals prepared involved reliable lecturers who could work with partner lecturers from Malaysia. “We have communicated several times regarding this research plan. Hopefully, our lecturers are ready to collaborate with researchers from Malaysia,” he added.
