The 23rd Muktamar Ikatan Pelajar Muhammadiyah (IPM) Conference in North Sumatra is set to take place from August 18-20, 2023, with Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) as the host. UMSU is fully prepared to ensure its success.
UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, through the Chairperson of the Local Committee Prof. Dr. Akrim, MPd, Tuesday (25/7/23), said that the committee had prepared everything needed, including providing a 50,000-watt sound system which was initially planned to have a capacity of 20,000 watts for the opening ceremony at the Multipurpose Building owned by the Provincial Government, Jl Pancing Medan. The Multipurpose Building can accommodate up to 2,000 congress participants from all regions in Indonesia.
“The local committee increased the sound capacity and chose a multipurpose building that was representative of enlivening the IPM Conference,” said Prof. Akrim told reporters after chairing a committee meeting in the meeting room of the UMSU Rectorate Building accompanied by Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin, M.Hum, Vice Rector III Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rudianto, M.Si, Chairman of North Sumatra PWM Muthalib, SE., MM and Head of Public Relations Dr. Ribut Priadi, M.I.Kom.
Prof. Akrim explained that the committee had also prepared two locations for the Pramuktamar and accommodation at the Medan Hajj Dormitory and the Education Quality Assurance Center (BPMP) building.
He continued that the local committee prepared all consumption, dozens of tourism, and VIP bus transportation to serve guests and congress participants from the airport to the event arena. The officers will coordinate with the central committee regarding the arrival schedule of the participants so that all of them can be served well until 1,500 participants and cheerleaders are returned.
Prof. Akrim said that until yesterday the local committee continued to collaborate with the central committee and IPM in North Sumatra to make the event a success and would jointly review the location so that the IPM grand event could run successfully.
UMSU, said Prof. Akrim, is obliged to facilitate and accompany IPM because UMSU is one of the Muhammadiyah Colleges (PTM) and a business charity. As with marathon meetings with PP Muhammadiyah and IPM, PTM and the organization are at the forefront of the success of this quite strategic Congress. Prof. Akrim hopes for support from the community members, the people of North Sumatra, the local government, and the media to make the event successful.
According to the plan, the President of the Republic of Indonesia will open the IPM Conference in North Sumatra. Meanwhile, the ministers confirmed their attendance are Menpora Dito Ariotedjo and Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhajir Effendi. The IPM Central Leadership previously visited the Indonesian Menpora at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Jakarta, on Monday (12/6).
