UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, represented by Vice Rector III Dr. Rudianto, M.Si, welcomed representatives of Monash University Malaysia in the context of visits and cooperation plans, Wednesday (31/1) at the UMSU VIP Room on Jalan Muchtar Basri No. 3 Medan.
According to Assoc. As Deputy Head of School Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences Monash University, Prof. Kumaran Narayanan conveyed their goal to UMSU for discussions related to opportunities for cooperation with the faculty of medicine and other faculties.
“We from Monash University Malaysia are very enthusiastic about collaborating with UMSU in all aspects of education, research, and staff training,” Kumaran said in English.
Kumaran hopes that, from this discussion, Monash University Malaysia and UMSU can immediately sign an MoU regarding journal publications, lecturer visits, and student or lecturer exchanges in international research.
“So on this occasion, we hope Monash University Malaysia and Australia can engage with UMSU for future developments,” Kumaran hoped.
Previously, WR III for Student Affairs, Alumni and Cooperation Dr. Rudianto, M.Si introduced UMSU as the only Unggul accredited campus in Sumatra. MQA Malaysia recognizes it, gets four stars from QS Star, and occupies the 21st position of the best private campus in Southeast Asia.
“Every year, we provide at least 20 full scholarships for students in Asian countries. UMSU is also very concerned with international student exchange programs,” said WR III, conveying UMSU’s International programs.
Dr. Rudianto said this discussion was relevant to UMSU’s plans to go international, such as collaborating with other institutions and universities. The sustainability of the collaboration is expected to be discussed immediately with the UMSU International Cooperation Institute (OIC), Research Institute (LPPM), and the Faculty of Medicine.
Previously, Monash University Malaysia’s entourage, namely Assoc. Prof. Kumaran Narayanan, as Deputy Head of School Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Muhamad Noor Alfarizal Kamarudin, Ph.D. (Lecturer) and Syafiq Asnawi, Ph.D. (Lecturer), visited the Faculty of Medicine UMSU Jl. Gedung Arca No.53, Teladan on Tuesday (30/1).
Also present at this discussion was the Head of LPPM, Syaiful Amri Saragih, S.P., M.Sc, and his team, Dean of FK, Dr. Siti Masliana Sp.THT-KL (K) and vice dean.
