Nidji Invites Thousands of Students to Sing: Kau dan UMSU Selalu Untuk Selamanya
Music band Nidji successfully entertained thousands of new students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara at a concert held on campus at Jalan Kapten Mukhtar Basri Medan on Saturday (30/9).
The concert held by RCTI+ entitled RCTI Invasion successfully attracted the attention of students who were quite familiar with the songs sung by Ubay, the vocalist of Nidji. Even when singing Kau and Aku, Ubay changed the lyrics of Kau and Aku forever into Kau and UMSU, which was immediately greeted by thousands of students.
“You and UMSU forever,” Ubay chanted, followed by thousands of UMSU students who, throughout the concert, did not move from the front of the stage. Moreover, the appearance of Nidji personnel and the vocalist, who is quite interactive, makes the atmosphere lively and entertaining.
Especially when Nidji sang the song Laskar Pelangi, whose lyrics became very familiar to students, almost all the songs sung were greeted by the choir of thousands of UMSU students.
The Nidji Band Group played ten songs at the concert held at UMSU. Songs that are popular and familiar to the ears make the concert feel lively and entertaining because a choir of thousands of students always follows it.
“We feel pleased and satisfied to be able to entertain the new UMSU students. We hope to be able to return to perform at the UMSU campus, “said Ubay, who was agreed by all Nidji personnel.
In addition to being entertained by Nidji’s performance, the friendly and familiar attitude of Nidji personnel serving fan requests also provides value.
UMSU Rector, Prof.Dr. Agussani, MAP, expressed his excitement and enthusiasm for welcoming the Nidji concert. “I follow the development of the Nidji Band Group,” he said while explaining the details of Ubay’s entry to replace the previous vocalist, Giring. The Rector’s story surprised the Nidji personnel because they did not expect the UMSU Rector to follow the development of their band.
“Thank you, Mr. Rector, for your attention,” said Nidji frontman Randy Danistha, who always appears calm.
On that occasion, the Chancellor also thanked RCTI + for visiting UMSU. It is hoped that the collaboration between UMSU and RCTi can continue to motivate students to develop talent and creativity.
