Syafii Efendi, M.M, the President of OIC Youth Indonesia and an International Public Speaker, provided motivation to students of the Faculty of Law at the University of Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) as a guest speaker in a public dialogue held on Thursday (June 22) at the UMSU Auditorium on Jalan Muchtar Basri No. 3, Medan.

Over 200 law students attended the event, and it was officially opened by the Rector of UMSU, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, represented by Vice Rector I, Prof. Arifin Gultom, M.Hum. In his opening remarks, Prof. Arifin urged the attending students to listen attentively to the speaker, as it would equip them to become outstanding students capable of competing internationally.
“If we want to succeed and excel in learning, behavior, and work ethic, we really need it. Let us listen to the knowledge and messages that Syafii has to offer. Reflect on them, practice them, and implement the positive aspects in our lives,” said Prof. Arifin.
Based on the report from the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Zainuddin, SH, MH, the event’s purpose was to motivate law students to upgrade themselves and their abilities. He mentioned that the students’ enthusiasm to participate in the seminar was extraordinary, as evidenced by the number of participants exceeding expectations.

Syafii Efendy provided motivation through a presentation on Indonesia’s recovery. He shared new insights from the beginning of Indonesia’s struggle with Covid to its subsequent recovery.
Moreover, Syafii shared 7 ways to improve one’s standard of living, encouraging the students to excel. These include being in the zone, not dwelling on the past, not blaming anyone, focusing on improving inputs and thought processes, collaborating with the best, and demonstrating commitment and persistence.
“Remember the faces of those who have insulted you because someday those same faces will have to witness your success,” Syafii said, motivating the participants to strive for success.
The law students in attendance showed enthusiasm and enjoyment throughout the seminar. In the closing session, they were reminded of their parents’ sacrifices and the importance of gratitude by being dutiful and making their parents proud.
