The management of the Indonesian Journalists Association of Kampar Regency paid a friendly visit to the campus of Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra on Jalan Kapten Mukhtar Basri, Medan, Thursday (9/2).
The presence of the PWI Kampar management was welcomed directly by the UMSU Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP. “Thank you for visiting the PWI Kampar friendship while attending the commemoration of National Press Day 2023, which was centered in Medan and attended by the President of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.
The Chancellor explained that UMSU as the only superior accredited PTS campus on the island of Sumatra. UMSU nurtures 45 study programs, and seven of them are accredited superior and 11 study programs are accredited A.
UMSU also has a phalactic science observatory facility, one of the flagship programs. In addition, there is also a commercial radio station.
The Chancellor also explained various national and international achievements, including the gold winner of Pimnas. In addition, UMSU has been internationally recognized by achieving a four-star rating from QS Stars and MQA (Malaysian Accreditation Agency).
Regarding media cooperation, UMSU has signed MoUs with various organizations, PWI, IJTI, including with the media, Perum LKBN ANTARA, TVMu and so on.
“UMSU is committed to building synergy with press people and establishing cooperation in improving human resources and other activities,” he said.
Evidence of UMSU’s closeness to press people is marked by various awards received by UMSU, including the UMSU Chancellor, who received the press friend figure award from SPS North Sumatra.
“So, on this occasion, I congratulate National Press Day. Hopefully, it can continue to educate the public,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of PWI Kampar expressed his positive impression and appreciation for the various achievements of UMSU. “As press people, we feel very impressed with UMSU’s facilities and infrastructure with various extraordinary achievements,” he said.
