Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) has agreed to collaborate with TV Muhammadiyah and Perum LKBN ANTARA, marked by signing a cooperation agreement (MoU).
The signing of the MoU was carried out directly by the Rector of UMSU, Prof.Dr.Agussani, MAP, President Director of TvMu, Dr. Makroen Sanjaya and Director of News of Perum LKBN ANTARA, Akhmad Munir at the auditorium of the UMSU Campus, Jalan Kapten Mukhtar Basri, Wednesday (8/2). In addition to signing the MoU text, a national seminar entitled ‘Healthy Media for the Nation in the Digital Age’ was also held. The conference also commemorated National Press Day and presented speakers, TVMu Director Dr. Makroen Sanjaya, Director of News Perum LKBN ANTARA, Akhmad Munir, and WR 3 UMSU Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rudianto, M.Si. The Dean of FISIP UMSU Dr. Arifin Saleh, M.Sp, hosted the seminar.
Also present was the Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership, Prof.Dr.Dadang Kahmad, faculty leaders, and hundreds of students. UMSU Chancellor Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, warmly welcomed this activity by introducing that UMSU also has information dissemination media, such as Radio UMSU FM, which has a commercial license. Regarding the press and media, Agussanin also said that UMSU is committed to producing creative human resources in the media and content creators.
“UMSU also builds cooperative ties with journalist organizations and encourages the improvement of journalist resources and actively participates in supporting press activities,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah, Prof. Dadang Kahmad, also said that Muhammadiyah is committed to presenting media that spreads healthy and enlightening content. The production of content and posts in the media refers to the Fiqh of Information. This means useful and enlightening content can offset harmful content filling the digital space.
